Korley Klottey NDC Supporters Fight MP

The Asylum Down Ward Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Korley Klottey Constituency in Accra, have expressed their disapproval about the leadership style of Nii Armah Ashietey, the Member of Parliament (MP). Addressing a press conference in Accra Ms Mohammed Rasheed, Spokesperson for the Ward alleged that the MP also the Greater Accra Regional Minister had not fulfill his promise to transform the fortunes of the party in the Constituency. �What we see now is entrenched factionalism, defunct party wings and structures, lack of transparency in leadership, inefficiency, intimidation that tend to retard progress of the party,� she alleged. The Spokesperson averred that there is growing dissatisfaction among the rank and file of the NDC, which could affect the fortunes of the party. The press conference was however disrupted when eight �machomen� stormed the venue and started destroying chairs and attacked journalists. Calm was restored when the intervention of the Police scared the thugs away. Alhaji Mohammed Gedel, NDC Ward Co-ordinator in an interview with the Ghana News Agency condemned the behavior of the gang. Nii Ashietey who is seeking re-election is contesting the NDC primaries with Mr Frank Awuku, Mr Leeford Quarshie and Mr Wakefield Ackuaku. GNA JA/KWE/ALB
