Alfred Woyome Arrested

The embattled National Democratic Congress (NDC) financier, Alfred Agbesi Woyome has been arrested. He was picked up by the security agencies following the orders from President John Evans Atta Mills. According to reports he was virtually forced out of his car in traffic on his way to work today, Friday, February 03, 2012. His arrest follows EOCO's interim report submitted to President Mills which confirms that he (Woyome) had no contract with the government of Ghana; hence the money paid him was criminally acquired. Mr. Woyome is currently at the Police Headquarters for questioning exactly 24 hours after the Economic and Organized Crimes Office submitted its interim report implicating him in manipulation of documents and information to milk the country. Scores of NDC supporters besieged the police Headquarters demanding the immediate release of the NDC financier and peacefmonline.com can confirm that five of them, all women, including Hajia Sherifatu of the Concerned NDC Members group were rounded up for unruly behaviour. A Deputy Information Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa however told Citi News that the Attorney General designate, Dr. Benjamin Kumbour is expected to brief President Mills on what decision to take in the never-ending Woyome saga by close of day today. Mr. Ablakwa indicated that the President has and will always maintain his integrity to ensure that his reputation is not impugned.
