Mr Victor Smith, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Abuakwa North, at the weekend presented 10 television sets worth GH₵25,000 to six second cycle schools and four communities in the constituency. The 40- inch flat screen television sets and all of which have DSTV connectivity would enable the beneficiary schools and communities to have access to international programmes. The schools were Ofori Panin Senior High School (SHS), St Paul�s Technical Institute, Christian IPS Technical SHS, Only Believe Technical SHS, WBM Zion SHS, New Tafo and Christian Heritage Technical SHS�s. The recipient communities were Kukurantumi, Daelsalam, near New Tafo, Anyibesin and Anweaben in the Eastern Region. Making the presentation on behalf of Mr Smith, who is also Ghana�s Ambassador to the Czech Republic, the Constituency Chairman of the NDC, Mr Francis Addoquaye, called on the youth who had attained the voting age to register when the biometric voters register is opened to enable them vote during the General Election. Mr William Yamba, former Abuakwa North Constituency Secretary of New Patriotic Party (NPP), led a group of supporters of the NPP to join the NDC executives to present the items to the beneficiaries. He explained that they had decided to support the candidature of Mr Smith because they are of the hope that when he becomes the MP for the area, he could attract more developmental projects. Mr Yamba said the presentation of the television sets and other support that Mr Smith had made to some institutions in the constituency confirmed the assertion. He therefore advised the youth to take into consideration the contribution of personalities to the development of the area, when it they are casting their votes.
