Suarez Is Back

SPURS players will have no problems shaking hands with Luis Suarez at Anfield this evening. The Liverpool striker returns after an eight-match ban for racially abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra. And the Spurs assistant-boss Kevin Bond insists the pre-match handshake will not be an issue for any of Harry Redknapp's men. He said: "I don't see any problems with Suarez. "Nobody here has any issues with anybody. Suarez is a fantastic player who has been a great signing for Liverpool. His return to action will give them a huge lift and I imagine the Anfield crowd will really be rooting for him. "You would have expected Liverpool to have sorely missed him and maybe a couple of results did go against them during his absence. "But they have just had three big wins without him against Manchester City, United and Wolves. Their tails are up and they are really flying. And now they've got Suarez back as well. "You never know, he might not even be in the starting line-up but the introduction of Suarez on a big match night at Anfield means they will be a really tough nut to crack." Third-placed Spurs will be without Aaron Lennon and Jermain Defoe tonight while Rafael Van der Vaart and Ledley King face fitness tests before Harry Redknapp names his team. Victory tonight will move Spurs back to within five points of leaders Manchester City after Roberto Mancini claimed the title race was down to two teams last week. "I find it hard to believe that Mancini underestimated Everton last week and if his opinion then was that it was a two-horse race, his opinion is different now," Bond says. "Our aim all season has been to finish in the Champions League but we also want to finish as high as we can. "Last week's results have drawn us closer to the leaders and while our result at Anfield will be important it's not going to define our season. "It's an ever-changing situation at the top of the table and I see it continuing like that right to the end of the season. "But we're only a couple of results away from the teams above us and we want to keep ourselves in contention right to the end."
