Al Ain Coach Clears Asamoah Gyan To Return To Action Today

Al Ain coach Cosmin Olaroiu says star striker Asamoah Gyan is ready to play against Dubai in their Pro League clash on Wednesday and the Ghanaian striker will take a penalty, if the team is awarded one. Gyan has been on Africa Cup of Nations duty over the past few weeks, but Ghanas run to the semi-finals was soured for the on-loan Sunderland striker when he missed a penalty in the 1-0 defeat to eventual winners Zambia. Despite netting in the tournament, Gyan has been derided in his homeland, and was grateful to the support shown to him by the Al Ain fans that turned up to Al Ain airport in the early hours of Monday morning. Gyan trained as normal on Tuesday, and is ready to face Dubai Club, as The Boss look to consolidate their lead at the top of the league. Things should go natural and as they should be. It is illogical to condemn a player like Gyan for missing a penalty kick. I still believe in him so I will choose him for any penalty kick we have. I have a good relationship with Gyan Indeed, Olaroiu pointed towards the struggles endured by the 26-year-old when he first arrived in the UAE, when he initially failed to find the back of the net on a regular basis. That has all changed in recent months, however, and Gyans 12 goals in 10 Pro League games to date have been the key factor behind Al Ains surge to the top of the league. I still remember his problem of not scoring when he joined Al Ain first. He was feeling good for not scoring, so I asked him to stop thinking about the subject and to think of his future with Al Ain. I assured him many times that he will be in the right way as long as he performs well in field with his players. Sooner Gyan scored and overcame all his sadness until he reached nine goals out of nine matches then he left to his national team. Dubai will certainly know who the danger man is when the two sides clash at the Dubai Cultural and Sports Club, and that point was emphasised by Liam Weeks, Head of Performance Analysis at Al Ain, who has been impressed by Gyan since his return. Hes looking sharp to be honest. I think the Africa Cup of Nations has brought him back a better player. Hes had a nice rest since the semi too and has fully recovered from the injury.
