Mumuni For President �Foreign Minister Drops Hints To Lead NDC

One time elected assembly member for the Yagrafong Electoral area in the Tolon-Kumbungu District of the Northern Region, Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni has asserted that he will accept calls from the grassroots base of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to represent the party as a presidential candidate in the not too distant future. According to the affable Foreign Affairs Minister, as a grassroots politician he is always prepared to serve the people in any capacity, intimating that his people will not be far from right to suggest that he nurses presidential ambition. Mr. Mumuni said his mission in politics is to serve the people; �I am a grassroots politician ready and capable of serving my people in any capacity if they call me for.� According to him �I am born to serve and I would not run away from my people. I will continue to be for them. If today the people in Kumbungu come and say they want me to serve in the assembly again I�m ready to listen to their plea.� He made this known in a brief interaction with The Heritage newspaper during a press soiree organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to officially launch its Press Corps aimed at partnering the media to explain the good works of the ministry to Ghanaians. Alhaji Mumuni who was the running mate to Professor John Atta Mills during the 2004 presidential election said as a grassroots politician of his caliber he will never say no to his people and that whatever his followers ask for he is ready to offer them. He assured that the Foreign Ministry will continue to serve Ghanaians in a transparent manner and execute its mandate diligently.
