Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has backed coach Goran Stevanovic to remain Black Stars coach despite what many Ghanaians have called an uninspiring performance at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon)
The Udinese player told Joy FM that the search for a new coach was demanding and that the whole process could take months.
�The African Cup is very close,� Badu said. �Now if you say you want another coach, so many coaches like 50 or 60 will bring their letters and say they want to coach Ghana.�
He said the Serbian is now familiar with all the players and their style and giving him a second chance will be a wise choice to make.
�Now you have to sit with them and it will take three or four months. But this man knows the players now and he knows what he can do for the team. If I am the president I think I will but once I am a player I will play under whoever is there. I don't work for the coach I work for the country,� added Badu.
However, the Udinese midfielder had some few reservations about the selection process especially inactive players who eventually found their names on Stevanovic�s final list.
�I think it is a problem. 40 or 50 per cent it can be. Without playing, your spirit will be down a bit and there will be a lot of criticism; you don�t play at your club and all that,� he explained.
�When you listen it can bring you down. You are in Europe for a whole year and you play maybe six games and get a call up to the national team is a problem.�
