Hisense I�TV2 Receives Value Innovation Award

The Hisense Group has been honoured with the "Value Innovation Award" for its I‟TV2 product at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The occasion marks the first time a Chinese company has secured the highly coveted award. The Hisense I'TV has already garnered a reputation across China since being launched at the end of 2011. It is the world�s first personalized Smart TV- built specifically as a tablet but with all the functions of a TV. The I'TV reached its intended goal of allowing consumers to watch TV virtually �anywhere� with multi-screen interactivity. The many capabilities of the I�TV are aligned with the world current mobile, interconnectivity and personal consumer electronic trends. The award, which was presented at the �China Day� conference at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) by the selection group, IDG (International Data Group) was aimed at recognizing worldwide innovative electronic products with huge market value. This particular award is given for creating the largest market value among all the awards at CES with a global influential presence. Last year saw Apple picking up the award. At the presentation ceremony, the president of IDG said "The I'TV is a new entrant into the consumer electronics sector, having already obtained a leading position in both the Chinese and the world's consumer electronics markets. This achievement demonstrates the efforts made by Chinese developers to meet consumers‟ potential needs and expectations. As a micro innovation product, the I'TV is projected to unlock the huge personalized TV market." President of Hisense Group as well as top officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China attended the award ceremony. The Awards also coincided with a partnership agreement between Hisense and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) media lab on latent training and project cooperation in the area of smart technology, artificial intelligence and human-computer dialogue. This partnership is recognized as the first alliance between a Chinese company and the MIT Lab, an internationally acclaimed research institute for research and innovation. In honour of the collaboration MIT has declared January 6th as "Hisense Day" and opened its labs to 60 Hisense Senior Managers and Engineers. While playing a leading role in the evolution of modern science, MIT remains a top institute of technology in the US for 19 consecutive years and boasts of 16 Nobel Prize winners in the past six years, the largest number among all US technology institutes. Ms. Yu Shumin, President of Hisense Group, stated during the signing ceremony that as Hisense has stepped into the Smart era, it is imperative to gain insight in consumer needs in advance and develop solutions to meet them. Building a strategic alliance with the MIT Media Lab will allow Hisense to accelerate its product development with more cutting-edge technologies whilst at the same time, learning from the cooperation to raise its level of innovation and global competitiveness.
