Sport Science Returns On Viasat 1

Viasat 1 is launching the next season of its award winning show, Sport Science, the popular series that brings together professional sports stars and scientists to explain athletic feats of the highest level. Season 2 of the show airs on Sunday 26 February 2012 at 11 a.m. This Award-winning TV series uncovers sports' biggest myths and mysteries by using cutting-edge technology to measure momentum, friction and the laws of gravity. Season 2 will welcome many new athletes into the Sport Science lab, including NBA stars Stephon Marbury, Kevin Love, Amare Stoudemire and Luke Walton. This season's first episode will test what generates more power - natural adrenaline or an adrenaline shot with Mixed Martial Arts fighter Houston Alexander agreeing to be injected with a dose of epinephrine. "The first season revealed that the show is appreciated by a diverse demographic audience, different age groups and backgrounds," says Viasat 1 Programs Manager James Botchwey". Each episode applies tools to record, measure and map the speed, force and range of the human body, specifically the athlete. The final product is not only entertaining, but educational." The show is expected to catch the attention of many science teachers who can use the show as a teaching tool. Season 2 of Sports Science premieres Sunday 26 February 2012 at 11am and airs every Sunday at 11am.
