Your Remarks Are Palpably Scandalous And Defamatory Betty Tells Minority Leader

Former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Betty Mould-Iddrisu says she finds it strange that high ranking personalities like the Minority Leader, Hon Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu and the NPP General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie would want to direct, instruct and stampede the police in its investigations into the Woyome affair by calling for her immediate arrest. Responding to recent remarks made by the two and other leading personalities regarding her role in the payment of the controversial GH51 million judgment debt to embattled NDC financier Alfred Woyome, Madam Betty Mould-Iddrisu said she feels distressed that such pronouncements are coming from persons holding high responsible positions in governance and politics. The Minority Leader quoting from the EOCO Interim Report in an interview said; when he (President Mills) instructed EOCO to go into the matter; by the report of EOCO, they are saying that it was Betty Mould-Iddrisu who ordered payment. Not only did she order but she did even supervise payment to Woyome. But solicitors for the former Minister in a statement issued last night described Hon Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu's comments as palpably scandalous and defamatory. Below is a copy of the rejoinder from the former minister's legal team to calls for her immediate arrest.
