Season 2 of Nigerian Idol the Nigerian version of the Idol series franchise also premieres on the channel Sunday 26 February 2012 at 8 pm. It is the second Idol franchise for the country as it was already part of Idols West Africa which was also shot and produced in Nigeria. The show started with its first season in 2010 and climaxed on March 27 2011 with 26 year old Yeka Onka announced the first Nigerian Idol ever over fellow competitor and favorite-to-win Naomi Ebiama. She was awarded the sum of 7.5 Million Naira, a recording contract with Sony, a car and an all expense paid trip to South Africa. Prior to receiving a Golden Ticket in Lagos Onwuka unsuccessfully auditioned on two other occasions for the show. The hosts for Nigerian Idol Season 2 are Tiwa Savage and Ill Rymz while the Judges are Jeffery Daniels, Yinka Davies and Charly Boy. Season 2 of Nigerian Idol premieres Sunday 26 February 2012 at 8pm and airs every Sunday at the same time.
