The three main Political Parties in the Jomoro District have assured the people of a peaceful, fair and transparent general election on December. They are the National Democratic Party, (NDC) New Patriotic Party, (NPP) and the Convention Peoples� Party (CPP). The leading members of the parties gave the assurance in separate interviews with the Ghana News Agency at Half Assini after the inauguration of the Jomoro District Inter-Parties Dialogue Committee, on Friday. They are Patrick Ackah, Jomoro Constituency Secretary of the NDC, Mr Gabriel Gyeni, Constituency Research Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Madam Agnes Afia Gyabaah, Constituency Women�s Organiser of the CPP. They promised to educate their members to tolerate the views of supporters of other parties and also pledged to undertake clean campaigns devoid of insults, acrimony and personal attack. Inaugurating the 27-member committee, the DCE for Jomoro, Mr Sylvester Dadieh, urged Electoral Officers in the District to ensure a violent free and fair elections. He said the situation where electoral officers evidently supported their parties was not the best and must be avoided. Mr Dadieh urged members of the Committee to work hard to ensure that the District had credible and peaceful elections. Mr Albert Awuah, Jomoro District Acting Officer In-charge of the National Commission for Civic Education, urged the people to register when the biometric registration opens from March 24 to May. The Jomoro District Electoral Officer of the Electoral Commission, (EC) Mr Kwabena Asante, said the biometric registration would enhance the Commission�s work.
