Thrills And Spills At Eastern Region Milo Junior BasketBall

The 2012 edition of the prestigious Milo Junior Ball championship ended in the Eastern region at the K.S.T.S basketball court with Koforidua Roman Catholic Primary & JHS clinching the ultimate trophy, Cash plus products from the sponsor with a two points difference of 19 � 17 at the expense of the highly fancied Akosombo International School. The event sponsored by Nestle Ghana Ltd with its brand Milo and organized by Rite Multimedia produce extra ordinary experiences and displays in basketball and choreography amidst socializing with music and dance. In all 12 selected Private and Public Basic Schools in the Eastern Region participated in the one day event aimed at unearthing basketball talents in Basic Schools in the country. Schools like Soul Harbour, Koforidua RIIS exhibited signs of great basketball techniques. In the basketball competition, the newly crowned champions, Koforidua Roman Catholic JHS began their journey to glory with a sweet flowing game coupled with aggression and quick inter-positional passes on the offensive to beat the defending champions Anglican JHS 17-12 in the Group �B� opening game, before going ahead to displace Madonna School and KOVOC to top the chart. In the semi-finals, Koforidua Roman Catholic JHS managed a 16-11 victory over an impressive Pentecost JHS side whiles Akosombo International School defeated Anglican JHS. Anglican JHS grabbed the bronze medal when they crushed Pentecost JHS. The Milo Junior Ball Championship will hit the Central Region on Friday 9th March 2012 at the Jubilee basketball Court in Cape Coast.
