Some NDC Members in the Northern Region have defected to the main opposition NPP.
The defectors numbering over a 100 were formally members of the John Mahama Fun Club in Tamale. The defection was done at Nyohini, a suburb of the Tamale Metropolis where they complained that they have been taken for granted since the NDC assumed office in 2009.
According to them, they worked tirelessly to get the party in power based on promises made to them yet those promises have not been realized. David Mohammed Sherrif, Former Leader of the John Mahama Fun told Citi News they wouldn�t rescind their decision because the NDC has nothing to offer them.
�The NDC has nothing to offer us and there is no way we will rescind our decision, we saw what the NPP did in government and we believe they will do more when they return to power, hence our decision to defect to the party,� he explained
