NPP 2012 Manifesto Tactically Delayed To Prevent NDC Copying Anthony Karbo

National Youth Organiser for the New Patriotic Party, Anthony Karbo, has said that the party has delayed its campaign manifesto for the 2012 elections based on lessons from the 2008 elections where he claimed the National Democratic Congress copied portions of their manifesto and made it theirs. He said for instance, the NDCs Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) was copied from the NPPs proposed Northern Development Authority (NDA), a programme he said the party intended to implement if it had won power. The NPP youth leader was addressing GIMPA students at a joint political debate as part of activities to mark GIMPA annual SRC Week celebrations. Vice Chairperson of the Conventions Peoples Party, Dr. Kojo Arthur and Progressive Peopls Party parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon, William Doworkpor also represented their respective parties. Karbo said the campaign team of Nana Akufo-Addo is still in the process of putting together policy ideas and manifesto as part of its agenda for change 2012 campaign. You would agree with me that as the largest opposition party, we are still putting together our policies and ideas for the elections in 2012 and even if I have a good idea of what is in that manifesto, it be will premature to put out the salient points of the manifesto, Karbo told the students. He said however that, the main thematic issues that the campaign manifesto will capture will include mobilization of private initiatives, modernization of agriculture, enhancement of productivity, prudent management of economy and robust fight against corruption among others.
