NPP Wanted To Kill JJ Rawlings Victor Smith

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) tried to assassinate former President J.J Rawlings, a former aide to the ex-President, Victor Smith, has revealed to Citi News. The newly appointed Eastern Regional Minister said in June 2001, when the NPP was in power, it dispatched several truck loads of armed police personnel to the residence of the former President, but his resistance and follow-up calls to the national security capos then saved the situation. Did they not try to put Mrs. Rawlings in jail? They tried several things they even tried to kill Jerry John Rawlings, the former Ghana ambassador to the Czech Republic said on the Citi Breakfast Show on Friday. They lied about why they came to the Rawlingses house. They brought about seven pick-ups of armed men. Today they talk about us putting Special Forces in the Independence to scare who? They thought he was going to be a problem for the administration of the NPP, Mr. Smith added. He continued: I called the National Security Coordinator then, General Amidu and the Interior Minister and they said they didnt know anything about that move so they were quickly asked by the intelligence agencies to withdraw those troops.
