The new minimum wage for 2013 is expected to be announced by the National Tripartite Committee (NTC) today.
The NTC, comprising representatives of the government, the Trades Union Congress and the Employers Association of Ghana were expected to announce the new wage last week.
This was because the Committee did not agree on the new figure last Friday.
The Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Nii Armah Ashitey, who also chairs the NTC, had said the new daily minimum wage would take effect from Friday, April 19, 2013.
The stakeholders expect a 35-per cent increment over the current minimum wage of GH4.48.
