Finance Minister: We Need To Exploit The Oil Sector Well

Finance and Economic Planning Minister, Seth Terkper has called for proper exploitation of the country’s oil sector.

According to the Finance Minister, Ghana has been blessed with oil and so, it behoves government to ensure that the revenues from the oil inure to the benefits of the economy.

Speaking in an interview with host of Peace FM's “Kokrokoo” programme, Mr. Seth Terkper stressed the need for the government to set up a fund for the oil sector.

He disclosed that the Ministry's establishment of the Ghana Infrastructure fund will boost the oil sector and through such fund, the government would be able to defray any cost by using money from the purse of the oil find.

Mr. Seth Terkper therefore called on State authorities and the entire nation not to mismanage revenues from Ghana's oil find.
