The Ningo Prampram District Assembly has exceeded its 2014 revenue target of one-point-five million Ghana Cedis by about three percent.
In an interview with Obonu News in Prampram, the District Chief Executive, Ahaji Sa-Rhack Nartey, said this was made possible due to an increase in the numerical strength of the revenue task force, willingness of the people to honor their tax obligations and departure from the over-reliance on the central government for funds such as the District Assemblies’ Common Fund and the Development Fund.
Ahaji Sa-Rhack Nartey said as development extends steadily from Accra, Tema and Ashaiman, where land and other facilities are over stretched, to Ningo-Prampram, the Assembly is also putting security measures in place to contain the challenges likely to arise.
