President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday said Ghana is stable and democratic enough to encourage business personnel to invest in the country.
He said Ghana is politically stable, democratic with inherent good governance, respect for human rights and good judicial system that would serve as an impetus for investors to pump money into the country.
President Mahama was s-peaking when a French business delegation-MEDEF International called on him at the Flagstaff House, Kanda.
MEDEF International, a conglomerate of more than 60 businesses in different sectors of development is in the country to explore investment opportunities, following President Mahama's visit to the group in 2013 in France.
President Mahama said recently the budgetary deficits had compelled government to sign an agreement with the International Monetary Fund for the next three years.
On that account, President Mahama said there is the need to partner other investors to cater for the annual $ 1.5billion in infrastructural development in the country.
For development to proceed in the country, President Mahama added that there is the essence for accelerated development in railways, roads, telecommunications among other interventions and establishing partnership with private investors is therefore congenial.
On the integration of the Sub-region, President Mahama said the development of the Lagos-Abidjan highway, and construction of railway lines to the landlocked countries are possible areas of partnership.
President Mahama said Ghana is looking for possible partnership in the development of the Juali Hydro-dam at the Oti River in northern Ghana to serve both Ghana and Togo.
Mr Patrick Lukas, Leader of the delegation said French companies are already making inroads in Ghana, and their visit was to step up investment levels in the coming days.
"France has companies of international repute and investment in Ghana will create a lot of opportunities between the two countries," he added.
