Members of the Ghana Energy Commission (GEC) have expressed confidence that the Ghana Gas Company Limited (GGCL) will be able to supply the nation with gas in the near future.
“Looking forward into the future, I see that these quality facilities will play critical roles in the country’s socio-economic development”, Dr Kwame Ampofo, Chairman of the Commission stated.
He expressed this optimism when he led the members on a day’s working tour to the facility to acquaint themselves with the operations of the project at Atuabo in the Ellembelle district of the Western Region.
He commended the management and staff of the Company for ensuring safety and sound environmental practices as well as strict security to prevent intrusion.
Dr Ampofo, however, urged the management to explore more avenues to enhance production, since energy was key to the economy, adding that the tour would help in taking sound decisions about energy.
Mr Robert Kofi Lartey, Director of Operations, briefed members on their operations and led them to tour the facility.
