CORONAVIRUS: More Than £200billion Wiped Off UK Shares In A Week And Nearly £5trillion Across The World

The coronavirus outbreak is causing chaos on the markets, with the FTSE 100 dropping to its lowest level since July 2016 and more than £200 billion in UK shares lost this week. 

The index dropped 4.5 per cent in just 90 minutes this morning, more than 300 points worse off than yesterday, with stocks in free fall and panic gripping the City. 

Though it had recovered slightly by lunchtime, it plummeted to a 4.5 per cent drop again around 2.30pm.
