Midland Savings & Loans Gets Gold Award From IQS

Midland Savings & Loans Company Limited has received the International Quality Summit Award in the Gold Category at the just ended 2014 Convention held in New York.

Recognized for commitment to quality, leadership, technology and innovation, Midland Savings & Loans Co. Ltd represents success for Ghana in the business world and keeps alive the vision to be a leading financial institution in the delivery of total financial solution.

The summit is part of the annual program of Business Initiative Directions (BID) Awards, designed to recognize the prestige of the outstanding companies, organizations, and businessmen in the business world. Business Initiative Directions (BID) is the leading organization worldwide in promoting quality culture in top businesses.

Managing Director for Midland Savings & Loans Co. Ltd, Michael Adjovu received the Award at the 28th International Quality Summit Convention held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel on May 25 and 26 2014.

According to Mr. Adjovu, the Award will spur the company on deliver on its mission "to serve as the channel of growth for individuals and corporate organizations through the provision of high quality services with the view to creating shareholder value".

"Midland Savings & Loans Company Limited is determined to become a leading financial institution in the delivery of total financial solution in the country," Mr. Adjovu added.

The Ceremony was attended by companies from 72 countries, together with leaders from different business fields, professionals from the worlds of economics, the arts and corporate image, quality experts, as well as academic personalities and representatives from the diplomatic corps.

According to Jose E. Prieto, President and CEO, "The award recipients are icons of commitment to leadership, technology and innovation, making them models for others in their sectors.”

Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Middle East, companies and organizations received the International Quality Award in recognition of their achievements and commitment to quality, thereby joining the historic group of prestigious BID Winners.

They include: Dogus Holding - Turkey, ICICI Bank and NTPC Ltd -India, Kaspersky Lab - Russia, Grant Thornton Russian Appraisal - Russia Barrandov Studio-Czech Republic as well as the Companhia Urbanizadora da Nova Capital do Brasil - NOVACAP.

Business Initiative Directions (BID) was founded in 1986 by the creator of the first QC100 TQM model as well as the Quality Mix Program, José E. Prieto.
