As a way to say thank you to cherished customers, United Bank for Africa (Ghana) Ltd has awarded cash prizes to six winners and a plush house located at Airport Hills to one lucky winner through their AWOOF promo.

The fully furnished 3-bedroom house was provided under a mutual partnership agreement the bank signed with Mobus Property Holding Limited.

The event which was held at UBA's Madina branch to reward both existing, new and one off customers was graced by officials of the National Lottery Authority, customers and staff of UBA and members of the media fraternity.

In an interview with the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of UBA, Mrs. Abiola Bawuah, she noted that after celebrating their 10th anniversary, they deemed it right to reward their customers through the AWOOF promo.

She explained that without their customers, UBA wouldn’t have been in existence and to appreciate them, the bank put together almost GHC 2m for the promotional item.

“It is not just a mere promotion, it is a promotion with distinction… and secondly there is a saying that says that any country that wants to develop, must encourage investment- UBA personally, we think we must encourage the populace to increase their investment.

We want to teach people how to invest. People need not to just spend all their income and it is also to promote the national agenda of saving because it is by saving that we can develop our country”, Mrs. Abiola Bawuah noted.

In assessing the event, the MD revealed that she personally felt the event went well as planned and added that “it is a lot of work, we wanted it to be fair so we covered the whole country – indeed the input was very stressful …a lot of the customers who came to witness the event are very happy and that is the most important thing for us as a bank.”

She ended by pledging that “every year once we exceed our target and we do very well, we would always thank our customers one way or the other.”
