Management of Databank has refuted recent claims in the media it was dealing in gold collectibles.
A statement issued in Accra by Gillian Hammah, Group Chief Marketing Officer, Databank said "we would like to assure our customers and the Ghanaian public that this claim is false."
"We are not licensed to deal in gold collectibles, have never done so, and do not intend to deal in gold collectibles," it added.
The statement said Databank was a professional investment bank that was licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission Ghana (SEC) to sell shares, treasury bills and bonds, as well as manage mutual funds, pension and institutional funds.
It said they remain committed to their core mandate of managing the funds of their investors in prudent ways that were sustainable over the long term, as well as providing financial education to all Ghanaians.
Databank assured all clients and the public that they have not and would not engage in any practices that compromise their commitment.

'NDC ne ENTRO dea'! NDv is ALWAYS LYING about everything. Is this the party that has ruled Ghana before? Oh, that is why we are where we are!
Otokunor should have given the name of the product, the DataBank gold collectible product but he didn't, because none exists. Then you could see their desperation and disinformation machinery was making them irrelevant, a self-inflicted own goal, scoring it left, right, center, inside out, under, everywhere showing they are losing heavily.
Well said @ Tonga
Otokunor the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC must come out to prove the assertion to the fact that Data Bank was dealing in gold collectibles. Such people must be made to face the laws for deceiving the public and causing fear and panic in Ghana. Is this how a Registrar of a Political Institution expected to behave?
