The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), Mrs. Aba Lokko has hinted that the premix fuel shortage which has hit major fishing towns is not the fault of TOR.
Speaking on the ‘Kokrokoo’ show, she revealed that under normal circumstances, the National Premix Secretariat is responsible for the premix fuel distributed to oil companies.
She continued that last week, 25 truckload of premix fuel was released by the secretariat to TOR for onward distribution.
Meanwhile, fishing towns like Elmina and Cape Coast in the Central Region, Keta in the Volta region and James Town in the nation’s capital, Accra have all been hit by the premix fuel shortage making it difficult for fishermen to fish for the last four months.
