British Airways Gears Up For London 2012 With Attractive Airfares

British Airways Ghana has given indications of very competitive airfares and promotions in the coming months as part of its strategy to promote air travel on British Airways and also stay competitive in the growing airline industry.

B.A, which now flies daily has put together special packages for persons who would be patronizing their services especially for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

This was disclosed to Citifmonline.com by the new Commercial Manager of British Airways Ghana, James Wooldridge who takes over from Paul Dhami. He indicated that there has been a considerable improvement in the flight services with the acquisition of some new aircrafts.

Asked about how prepared British Airways was in the wake of the competition of flights in and out of the United Kingdom, especially with the Olympic Games just around the corner, Mr. Wooldridge indicated that “during the Olympics, the Airport authorities in London haven’t granted the permission to anyone to fly, who doesn’t normally fly there.

“But on the Ghana rout specifically, yes we have competition from another carrier that flies to the United Kingdom, and we also have competition from carriers that fly into Europe and the Middle East.

"What I’m focusing on is trying to make sure that we retain a very good position here in the Ghanaian market, we’re offering some fantastic fares for customers at the moment, some of the cheapest fares that we’ve never seen here in Ghana so we’re looking at promoting air travel with British Airways as much as we can."

He added: “Also our customers deserve to travel with British Airways giving the investment that we put into the business recently. We’ve reinvested in food, we’ve reinvested in wine, in onboard products, new seats, new in-fight entertainment so some of our customers that maybe have not flown with British Airways for a while are going to be pleasantly surprised when they next step on a British Airways plane." British Airways is celebrating 75 years of doing business in Ghana this year in October.
