Shenzhen Energy Group Limited, majority shareholder of Sunon Asogli Power Limited is targeting electricity generation of 1,000 megawatts in the next couple of years.
Presently, the company produces 200 megawatts of electricity. The Chinese investor is hopeful by the end of the second phase, it will be producing 360 megawatts of power while an additional 440 megawatts will be added at the end of the third phase.
The second phase of the project is expected to cost 360 million dollars. Li Xiao Hai Shaw, Chairman of Sunon Asogli Ghana Limited made this known when the Acting Managing Director of the ECG paid a working visit to the power plant at Kpone near Tema.
Managing Director of ECG, William Hutton Mensah also expressed his appreciation to Sunon Asogli for providing ECG with 15 percent of reliable power supply.
