RadioXYZonline.com can confirm that the Fast Track High Court has ordered the immediate arrest of certain officials of MTN Ghana including its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Michael Ikpoki.
The court ordered the arrest of the MTN officials following their failure to attend court for the third time to show cause for why they should not be held in contempt for failing to restore all communications services to the MTN line of Dr. Raymond A. Atuguba as ordered by the court some months back.
The other officials whose arrests have been sanctioned are Ms. Jemima Kotei, a Customer Relations Executive and Mr. John Joffman, the Chief Technical Officer of MTN Ghana.
It will be recalled that in June this year, the Executive Secretary of the Constitutional Review Commission, which just rounded up its operations, sued SCANCOM Gh. Ltd. operators of MTN and the Attorney General for the truncation of service to his mobile phone line.
The writ filed by Dr. Atuguba at the High Court was seeking compensation for, among other things, the infractions on his legal rights to life, property, association, information, work, and communication.
Dr. Raymond Atuguba, said the termination of his mobile service potentially put his life at risk as well as jeopardised his business opportunities.
In July, the court ordered MTN Ghana to restore Dr. Atugubas mobile service within 30 minutes during the preliminary hearing of the epoch-making case.

But in an interview with XYZ News days after the ruling, Dr. Atuguba said MTN Ghana failed to carry out the order of the court in its totality.
He said the services have been restored one way which means that I can receive calls on my phone. At first, the whole thing was dead and you could clearly see off on it.
He proceeded again to the court on the backdrop that the telecom giant failed to adhere to the ruling of the court.
The parties have since then been going to court to hear a case of contempt brought against the three officials of MTN who have failed to appear before the judge to defend their case.
At the time of filing this report, Dr. Atuguba was still at the courts waiting for the order to be drawn and signed for the arrest to be effected with dispatch.
