Local Ghanaian car dealers are gradually moving away from the traditional mode of transacting business as most of them in the Ashanti Region have embraced the online system of doing brisk business.
Even with limited insights into e-commerce, the car dealers said they preferred the online mode of transacting business to potential buyers presenting themselves physically.
Cheki.com.gh, a car website, is helping the dealers to take advantage of the nearly 80,000 people who visit the site to enhance their sales and connect to the rest of the world.
The Kumasi car dealers said they found Cheki.com.ghs website scattered around 22 African countries and selected countries in the world, more convenient.
At a maiden official interaction with the dealers and some representatives of car manufacturers to gauge the response of the shift in the mode of operation, the country manager of Cheki.com.gh, Eric Amoako-Twum, expressed delight at the increase in the number of people who showed interest in the over 14,000 vehicles advertised on the site.
The forum was a follow-up to the Accra engagement with the dealers as the team moves with a view to covering the entire country in the nearest future.
The parent company of Cheki.com.gh based in South Africa has already taken the market by storm and their system could be compared to Europe where the cashless economy is thriving.
