The prices of Cement have reduced drastically following the appreciation of the Ghana Cedi to country's major trading currency, the US dollar.
After a management meeting, GHACEM, the country�s largest cement manufacturer, decided to reduce the prices and that will take effect from today,7th October, 2014.
GHACEM, a few days ago promised to reduce prices of cement if the current stability of the cedi is sustained.
Speaking in an interview Tuesday on PEACE FM�s �Kokrokoo� programme, Mr. Ben Eshun, Head of Sales and Distribution at GHACEM said after the meeting the company decided to honour their promise by reducing the prices �drastically�.
According to him, the factory price for cement has been reduced from GHC 30.55 to GHC27.965.
�We decided to reduce the prices following the rise of the Ghana cedi ...,� he said.
