MTN Ghana in partnership with National Youth Authority (NYA) is set to train Ghanaian youth under the MTN flagship program “21 days of  Y’ello Care” to help empowered and eradicate youth unemployment in the country.

The 21 days of Y’ello Care campaign, MTN’s Corporate Social Responsibility is a 21-day long staff volunteerism programme in which employees across MTN’s operations across the world are encouraged to take time off their busy schedule and physically get involved in activities that will uplift the communities they operate to make lives better through the projects implemented.

This year, MTN Ghana will be working with the National Youth Authority and the iCode GH to do some training and skill enhancement projects with other exciting projects with Narcotics Control Board & Pharmacy Council.

This year theme dubbed; “Creating A Brighter Future For Our Youth”, launched on Monday 3rd June, 2019 with special focus on Youth Empowerment and Development skill projects.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MTN Ghana Mr. Selorm Adadevoh, he indicated "that the youth are the greatest National assets and not only are they regarded as the future leaders but are actually the greatest investment for a country’s development and that it is momentous to help bring out the best in them".

According to the CEO, "it is important to empower the youth with employable skills as they are the backbone of the nation and therefore need the support of corporate Ghana in that regard...a well resourced and empowered youth of any nation will help economic development and reduce the rate of poverty at a significant level that is why MTN Ghana has introduced “The 21 Days of Y’ello Care and urged every Ghanaian youth to get involved".

The CEO therefore encouraged the staff to make time for one initiative apart from winning the ultimate prize to inspire the youth, give them hope and most importantly make a positive impact on them.

Also speaking at the launch is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Youth Authority (NYA) Mr. Emmanuel Asigri who commended MTN Ghana for supporting government with such an innovative programme in supporting the youth in the area of Beads training, website designs, weave on and also substance abuse.

“NYA is ready to partner MTN in “The 21 Days Of  Y’ello Care Program” to help solve youth unemployment in the country…even though NYA has already started some projects  such as these and believed this year’s programme will help develop more skills and create opportunity for the youth", he stated.
