As part of the National Board for Small-Scale Industries (NBSSI) efforts to support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), they have organized a Seminar and Webnar to educate them on the benefits of formalizing businesses.
In an interview with Peace FM's Gladys Boakye, the Director for Entrepreneurship Development at the NBSSI, Habiba Sumani explained that a lot of businesses make mistakes with regard to getting the right information that will help grow their businesses which includes registering the business and going through the necessary procedures to formalize the business.
She added that, the new Mastercard and NBSSI partnership known as the “Nkosuo program”, a COVID-19 Recovery and Resilience Program to support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is targeted at supporting 39, 000 businesses by 2022.
Madam Habiba Sumani further advised MSME’s to practice financial literacy such as the documentation of records as well as getting a separate bank account for businesses from their personal accounts for proper management of finances.
