Aspiring Presidential candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Joe Ghartey, has stated that innovation and entrepreneurship have the potential to transform Ghana’s economy for the better.

He has therefore hailed the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) Enterprise and Innovation Centre, which he strongly believes has the ability to positively contribute to the economic advancement of Ghana.

According to the experienced Member of Parliament (MP) for Essikado-Ketan Constituency, the UPSA Enterprise and Innovation Centre “…is a model that can transform the nation and the youth into job creators rather job seekers.”

He made this known when he visited the Centre where he interacted with students and members of the Advisory Board of the UPSA Business Incubator Centre.

on. Ghartey is the Chairman of the UPSA Business Incubator Centre’s Advisory Board.

The University of Professional Studies, Accra opened the Enterprise and Innovation Centre in October 2021.

The Centre was created with the aim of fostering the spirit of entrepreneurship by unearthing, grooming and supporting students with compelling business ideas into viable businesses.

The UPSA Enterprise and Innovation Centre (UEIC) i targets young entrepreneurs with vital practical experience to set them up to run their own student businesses. While working on real-life business with their own business ideas, students are being equipped with the needed technical support from experienced industry players.
