Ladies and Gentlemen, I wish to extend my warmest greetings to you all. Barely two weeks ago, the Ghana web outlet kindly published an item on the now popular SODOMY CASE.
Along with that was another issue concerning us the parents. I don’t intend to belittle the sodomy case by any stretch of imagination but what seemed to be the main thrust of that piece has been shelved and needs to be stirred up. The issue bothers on the fiscal management practice at Adisadel College. When the issue of the sodomy broke out many were those who doubted it until it was taken up by the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times. I plead that this piece is treated with the same seriousness it deserves.
In the said article the writer made mention of indiscriminate extortion of monies from parents.
a) That the headmaster of Adisadel College must answer to the allegation of a 1 billion cedis (100,000 Ghana) debt he incurred in a term and collected from parents.
b) Students who are made to sign a bond to be of good behavior are made to pay 50 Ghana cedis mostly for going out of school premises without permission. Does the GES approve of this?
c) What happens to the monies paid for internet services in the school? We hear boys cross a certain dangerous street to browse.
The headmaster in his usual I don’t care attitude just as he did with the sodomy case have not responded to these concerns. Obviously, he will have to answer at the appropriate time. When will Adisadel College have its PTA meeting? I’ll definitely make it from Bawku despite the distance. Is it a crime to send one’s ward to Adisadel College? Is this what is happening in all the schools? If so then the NDC government must do something about this situation. The 50 Ghana we paid last two terms and just last term too were for what? We need answers.
Finally my heart- felt concerns to the victims of that dastardly act of Sodom and Gomorrah. Allah himself abhors this. May Allah take care take of these victims. The school should take the victims to the hospital for tests for them to know their status of health. As a professional nurse myself I would have wished to help out but the distance. Is there any compensation from the school for the victims? Thank you for the
