Veep Swerves NPP With Clean CV

Vice-President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur must be roaring with laughter at the comical yet cynical attempts by Mr. Kwabena Agyapong of the NPP and a so-called youth group within the opposition NPP, the Young Patriots, to equate his Curriculum Vitae (CV) to that of Akufo-Addos which has been established as being fraudulent.

Under pressure from Felix Kwakye-Ofosu, Convener of Research for Advocacy Platform, (RAP), Mr. Kwabena Agyapong last Saturday on JOY FMs Newsfile finally confessed that Akufo-Addo attended Oxford University but said the omission of this fact from his CV is not as grievous as that of Vice-President Amissah-Arthur.

According to Kwabena Agyapong, the Vice-President lied on his CV posted on Ghana Government website by claiming that he obtained his Masters in Economics from the University of Ghana in 1976.

This allegation was re-echoed by the so-called Young Patriots yesterday after Felix Kwakye-Ofosu provided evidence to prove that Akufo-Addo really attended Oxford University in 1962.

The Young Patriots, at a press conference accused Vice-President Amissah-Arthur of presenting a fraudulent CV to Ghanaians claiming that the records at the University of Ghana show that he never obtained his Masters in Economics from there in 1980. But, the Vice-President must be laughing and saying small boys are young as records show that he obtained his Masters from the University of Ghana in 1986 which he stated in his CV to Parliament before he was vetted.

Apparently, the 1976 stated on the Ghana government website as the year he obtained his Masters in Economic is a typographical mistake that can be blamed on only the managers of the website.

Vice-President Amissah-Arthur is currently on the campaign trail in the Brong Ahafo Region and sources say he could not help but laugh when he was told by about the claims of the NPP.

The NPP, over the years, unable to defend allegations leveled against them have adopted the Politics of Equalization which sees them accusing the NDC of the crimes they have been accused of. This has seen them levelling accusation of corruption against the NDC when there is no evidence.

The attempt to criminalize Vice- President Amissah-Arthurs CV is yet another example of the NPPs attempt to accuse the NDC of allegations levelled against them after realizing they cannot defend why Akufo-Addo omitted from his CV the fact that he once attended Oxford University.
