"Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures" says Psalms 90:10.
Clearly, this biblical verse pontificates that the attainment of the age of seventy in one's life and the continuous exhibition of fortitude in further pursuance of life, is sheer blessings and grace from the Most High God. Such is the life of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the 2012 flagbearer of our great tradition who turned seventy years (70) last Saturday, and continues to exhibit extraordinary strength and fortitude.
These blessed years of Nana Addo are characterized by selflessness, courage, intellectuality, perseverance, patriotism, service to God and country, among many other enviable attributes. He has lived and continues to live a fulfilling life both as a private person and as a national figure. The number of astute lawyers who have passed through his hands bears eloquent testimony to a legal colossus of our time, and part of his enviable legacy.
His penchant to seek and defend the fundamental human rights of his people is a hallmark of his leadership and the true voice of the voiceless. He has lived up to this billing even at the barrel of the gun, and at the peril of his life. His involvement as the General Secretary of the broad-based People's Movement for Freedom and Justice (PMFJ) in the relentless fight against the UNIGOV of General Acheampong, and the popular "Amoako Tuffour vs. the Attorney General" are a few to mention. He has served his country well in various capacities at the local, national and international levels.
We are guided and motivated by his exemplary life to continue to demand social, political and economic justice for our people, whiles serving our party and nation. He is indeed the epitome of greatness!
NPP-USA therefore takes this opportunity to wish Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, a happy birthday and long life. We pray for God's blessing and guidance to be upon him. We wish him well in his entire endeavors.
Happy Birthday to our beloved!
Long live Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo!
Long Live NPP
