Okay! Let's presume and assume that the gold transformed into 12.5 kilos of cocaine.
My question is; was the gold grounded into powder form or remained bars in the bag the lady carried majestically to Heathrow Airport?
Since I haven't heard Ms. Nayele Ametefe's voice discounting or confirming what has been gracefully expressed by Foreign Minister Hannah Tetteh as events that preceded the arrest of Ms. Nayele or better still Ruby Adu Gyamfi; I will only ask the Minister how she is going to reconcile the gold tale with the cocaine saga.
There are inconsistencies in the versions released by Hon. Hannah Tetteh and I don't know if she intends to do Ghanaians good or rather muddy the waters. Her revelations have made the cocaine bust much murkier than I thought.
What is Hon. Hannah Tetteh telling the good people of Ghana?
That Ruby Mahama or Adu Gyamfi (aka Angel) goes through VVIP lounge and gets seated in First Class Section of British Airways and then approached by a "Grounds Staff"; somebody who bagged the cocaine to her on flight.
We're told Ruby went through VVIP section empty or holding nothing [if I may say] and therefore walked into the plane. So, I guess she left her baggage and luggage in London and came to Ghana and then decided to go back to London. Right!
Hannah Tetteh further claims Ruby did not know the identity of the person, who brought her the bags, yet the person mentioned her name and she comfortably collected the bags thinking that it contained gold.
I guess even the poorest man in the world wouldn't accommodate a stranger without finding out who he or she is. Well, I don't also dispute the fact that Angels can appear in human form but as to which Angel that gave her the bags, guess Ms. Ruby will be the best person to recall.
Hannah Tetteh claims Ruby didn't know the person who brought the bags but credible sources indicate she brandished an Austrian diplomatic passport, Ghanaian passport and screamed diplomatically when accosted at Heathrow Airport. Is this not the same Minister who claims the person who aided Ruby to pass through the VVIP section was a top business man?
How come the person who sent her the bags is unknown, yet a top-notch personality is said to have aided Miss Ruby?
This is what Hon. Hannah Tetteh said on Accra-based Radio Gold Tuesday; This is the story she told the consular staff, that she went through the VIP Lounge, she didnt carry anything onto the plane, somebody who was a ground staff brought a bag to her, she doesnt know who the person was but the person knew her name and the seat in which she was sitting and that she collected the bag and it was heavy; it wasnt possible for her to pick it up and put it in the overhead luggage compartment so she opened the bag, took out two packages and put them in her hand luggage."
She added that the lady at the center of the cocaine bust said she didn't know the contents of the bag were cocaine, "she said she thought it was gold."
Yet in the subsequent submissions by the Foreign Minister, Hon. Tetteh said the cocaine suspect agreed to carry the luggage "because the money was good but she was resigned to the fact that she had been caught and she was ready to do the time in jail."
Is this not the same Ruby Adu Gyamfi or Nayele Ametefe (just playing around her names), who says she didn't know what was in the bag?
How come she now says "the money was good"? Which money did she tell the Foreign Minister? Somebody who didn't get the privilege to know the contents of the bag now thinks the money is good, does this really add up?
Again, we're told that the consignment was huge, so she decided to take some out and put in her handbag. Let's just agree that the things were wrapped inside the bag but when she removed the bag, didn't she know it was gold or cocaine?
A stranger gives you bag on a plane. You accept the bag and forget his or her identity. You then open the gold bag and remove some gold into your handbag. Then you say the "money was good" but you didn't know the contents of the bag.
Is this what the Minister is telling Ghanaians or this is what Ruby made the Minister thinking it happened? Since I was not at the Airport and never knew what went on, I will only say "bravo" to Hon. Hannah Tetteh.
At last, she has revealed issues some of us didn't know. But can somebody ask the Honourable Minister; what was the gold going to do in London??? The purpose of the said gold to UK should really be justifiable for someone to accept it from an unidentified person and in joy, scream the money was good.
Gold is supposed to be yellow; Cocaine is perceived as white. Yet, the substance could be gold or cocaine. At this point, gold is what we all want for this country, not cocaine!
