Keeping your business afloat can be a daily struggle at the best of times, but when you factor in the Covid-19 pandemic, the tough just got a whole lot tougher.

The current crisis has dramatically shifted the goalposts and turned the world on its head as everyone adapts to a new normal. An air of uncertainty has been hanging over all businesses, and individuals are having to think on their feet just to survive. Entrepreneur Chris Naghibi has many business concerns and is well versed in how the pandemic has affected each of them. As a big believer in "many hands lighten the load," Naghibi has kindly agreed to share with us five strategies on how to help your business weather the storm and stay afloat until the pandemic passes.

Adapt to Survive

Covid-19 has forced us all to make some pretty significant changes. Your business may have been forced to close its doors temporarily, and the staff may be working remotely. However, as with any situation, look for the advantage and exploit it. For example, now may be the time to develop your online presence or expand in a new area or direction.

Going Digital

Some businesses have already made the leap of faith and completely digitalized all their existing operations. The pandemic forced them to realize that much of their day-to-day operations were surplus to requirements. The fact is that we live in the information age, and if the future has a face, it will be a digitalized one.

Build Bridges

If the pandemic has made us realize anything, it's that we're all stronger together. In times of crisis, it is better if everyone is pulling together and singing from the same hymn sheet. We all bring something different to the table, so network, communicate, and find out how your services can help other businesses and how they, in turn, can help yours.

Engage Your Community

Now more than ever is the time to proactively reach out within your community and let them know your business is there for them. Engage with your clients and reassure them you are there to help. This will enhance the reputation of your business, and the loyalty it will inspire will prove priceless.

Rethink and Retrain

Although your team might be working from home, now is the perfect time to perhaps think of helping them retrain and develop new skills, all of which can be done via online learning. Remember, an employee who is versatile and capable in a myriad of areas is the sort of asset that can make all the difference when it comes to the survival of your business.
