Lawyer Charles Owusu Juanah, a prominent figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and an influential advocate for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s presidential campaign, continued his nationwide initiative to re-energize and re-tool the party's grassroots base.
His latest stop was at the Ablekuma North Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, where he addressed party members, urging them to stay committed to the NPP's mission despite challenges and perceived neglect…
In his address, Lawyer Juanah did not shy away from acknowledging the concerns of party members who feel left out after the NPP came to power. He acknowledged that some members believe they have been overlooked and that their contributions have not been adequately rewarded.
However, he emphasized that this should not deter them from supporting the party. "We shouldn't be angry with our party all because some government appointees have disappointed us. We have to stand solidly behind our party until we're able to clean the party to see to our needs," he stated…
Lawyer Juanah traced the root cause of Ghana’s current unemployment crisis to the era of former President Jerry John Rawlings. He pointed out that before Rawlings came to power, Ghana had numerous local businesses and industries that provided jobs for many Ghanaians.
However, these industries were confiscated and collapsed under Rawlings' rule, setting the stage for the unemployment issues that the nation still grapples with today…
The seasoned lawyer didn’t hold back in his critique of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing them of having spent almost 30 years in power from the days of Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) in 1979 to Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) in 1981 then to National Democratic Congress (NDC Phase One) from 1992 to 2000, and National Democratic Congress (NDC Phase Two) from 2008 to 2016, during which time they destroyed the country's economic foundation.
"They’re the same very people under the same leadership and mentorship. Just that, they’ve changed their name from AFRC to PNDC and now, NDC.” He stated. He contrasted this with the NPP's track record, highlighting the party’s consistent efforts to implement policies that benefit every Ghanaian. "The NPP is a party that cares for the Ghanaian people. It implements policies that benefit every Ghanaian," Juanah said…
He also drew attention to the human-centered policies introduced under former President John Kufuor, despite Ghana being listed under the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) initiative.
Kufuor's administration focused on investing in the Ghanaian people, with policies like the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), the Capitation Grant, and the School Feeding Programme, among others, which were aimed at addressing the needs of ordinary citizens…
Turning to recent history, Lawyer Juanah criticized the NDC for lying their way into power in 2008. He recounted how Ghana had discovered oil for the first time, but due to the illness of then-President John Atta Mills, the country’s potential was never fully realized until his passing. John Mahama, who took over from Mills, led the country through a period of severe energy crises, commonly known as 'dumsor,' which devastated businesses and the economy, despite the country’s newfound oil wealth…
In stark contrast, Lawyer Charles Juanah praised the NPP under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for continuing the party’s legacy of human-centered initiatives, most notably the implementation of Free SHS.
He argued that in a country where not everyone can afford to be rich, policies like Free SHS help ensure that all Ghanaians can benefit from the country’s resources. "It is incumbent on us to vote for Dr. Bawumia to continue with the human-centered policies of the NPP," he urged…
He also called on Ghanaians not to fall for the "mischievous promises" of John Mahama, whom he accused of being full of lies. Lawyer Charles Juanah claimed to have been personally involved in a meeting where the NDC was preparing to sell the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), further emphasizing the party’s lack of trustworthiness…
As the December 7th election approaches, Lawyer Juanah implored NPP members not to allow sentiments to cloud their judgment. He reminded them of the hardships they endured under Mahama's administration and warned against letting those memories fade.
"We shouldn’t forget the hardship we were subjected to under Mahama," he said, adding that the NPP is the only party capable of finding solutions to the country’s problems…
He also highlighted the importance of governance as a gradual process, urging Ghanaians to trust the NPP for keeping the lights on, constructing roads, and introducing new policies, even amid global challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukraine war. He argued that if the NDC had been in power during these crises, Ghana would have been in a far worse situation…
Lawyer Juanah motivated the gathering to stand behind the NPP to retain power, thereby preventing the NDC from using deceit and lies to win the upcoming election. He emphasized that the NPP is the party that truly has the Ghanaian people's interests at heart and urged members to recognize the divine favor on Dr. Bawumia’s candidacy…
In his concluding remarks, Lawyer Charles Owusu Juanah called on party leadership to support members and uplift their spirits, especially in the face of NDC's diabolic tactics during elections. He encouraged grassroots members to hold the party accountable to their welfare while ensuring they vote massively for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP on December 7th.
"Ghanaians need to know where we’re coming from to know where we’re going," he remarked, reinforcing the importance of collective effort to secure a bright future for the nation under NPP’s leadership.
After Lawyer Charles Owusu Juanah's passionate delivery, members left the meeting energized and fully equipped, their spirits lifted and their resolve strengthened. With excitement evident on their faces, they eagerly pledged to embark on an intensive house-to-house, room-to-room, and even bed-to-bed campaign to ensure the NPP's victory.
The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm, and the meeting concluded on a high note, leaving everyone motivated and ready for the challenges ahead…
