The mother of former Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, who masterminded the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Towers, remembered her son as a “very good kid” as she spoke about him for the first time since his death in 2011.
Alia Ghanem, in her mid-70s, along with surviving sons Ahmed and Hasan, described bin Laden as a straight-laced kid “who loved me so much” in an interview with The Guardian.
She said her second husband, Mohammed al-Attas, raised bin Laden, after she divorced her first husband when her firstborn was just three years old.
“He was a good man, and he was good to Osama,” she said of al-Attas.
