A teenage ex-convict and his accomplice, who robbed a student of his mobile phone at knife point have been sentenced to 15 years jail term each by the Juaso Circuit Court.
The pair, Kwabena Yeboah, 19, and Emmanuel Obeng, 18, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit crime and robbery.
Yeboah had previously served a two-year sentence at the Borstal Institute for stealing.
Police Detective Inspector Birikorang Peasah, prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr. Federick Tetteh that the complainant, a student and both convicts, unemployed, all reside at Konongo.
On April 14, at about 2130 hours whiles complainant in the company of other friends were trekking from Konongo to Odumase, when they were attacked at a place called Ahenbronum and was robbed of his Motorola mobile phone by the convicts at knife-point.
Complainant reported the incident to the Police who arrested the convicts some days later upon intelligence.
They confessed robbing the complainant of the phone valued at GH₵350.00 in their caution statement and were subsequently arraigned.
