A Kumasi Circuit Court, presided over by Madam Afua Adu Amankwaah, has ordered a woman standing trial over alleged possession of cannabis to be held in prison custody.
Adwoa Atene, 35, has been charged with possessing narcotic drugs without lawful authority and she pleaded not guilty.
She would make her next appearance on Wednesday, October 21.
Police Chief Inspector Felix Akowuah told the court that the accused was arrested based upon intelligence reports received by the police at Suame.
Atenee, a drinking spot operator, at Tarkwa Maakro in Kumasi was caught with seven large parcels of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis and 101 wraps of the stuff, concealed in black polythene bag.
Added to these were 87 sachets of locally-made liquor laced with same substance.
The prosecution said Atenee admitted the crime in her caution statement and mentioned one Kwadwo Atanga as her source of supply but maintained she did not know his place of residence.
