The Accra Regional Police Command has stated that there has been no record of death as a result of the shooting incident at La Bawaleshie in the cause of the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency by-election.
Superintendent of Police, Sheilla Kessie Abayie-Buckman, the Director of Public Affairs of the Command, made this known in a release and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Thursday.
She said six persons were injured and were all receiving treatment at the Legon and 37 Military hospitals.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police, Mr David Asante Appeatu, had directed the Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department to speed up investigation into the incident.
Supt Abayie-Buckman encouraged the public, especially voters and residents of the Constituency, to remain calm and go about their duties without fear as police personnel had been deployed to ensure law and order.
