A member of a stealing gang has been exposed by a gunshot injury he sustained while trying to covertly seek medical attention at Konongo-Odumasi Government Hospital in the Ashanti Region
33-year-old Abdul Dramani and his accomplices currently on the run went to steal 17 pieces of railway lines metals from Ohene Nkwanta railways area near Odumasi and loaded them into sprinter bus with registration number GR 145-15.
Ashanti Regional Highway Patrol Team in Kumasi acted upon information received from the konongo District Commander about the operation of the suspects at a nearby bush but they abandoned leaving the vehicle with its contents on seeing the police team approaching but one of them was fired.
On Wednesday at about 6:00am ,Police had an information from Konongo-Odumasi Government Hospital that one Abdul Dramani was there with an injury on his left shoulder to seek medical attention and it was being suspected to be an injury from gunshot.
Police proceeded and met the said Abdul Dramani with the injury on admission.
During Police interrogation, he confessed to be at the scene with the escapees; hence he was re-arrested and placed under Police guard while efforts are underway to trace the owner of the sprinter bus to assist in apprehending the suspect driver and his accomplices.
