The Nkawie Circuit Court has granted a 37-year-old driver GH¢20,000.00 bail with two sureties for defrauding his fellow driver at Breman, in the Suame Municipality.
Kwabena Ofori was said to have introduced himself as a building contractor and requested the complainant, who is a tipper truck driver, to convey two trips of sand valued at GH¢3,000.00 to a site at Abuakwa Housing, but failed to pay him.
His plea was not taken and would reappear before the court presided by Mr Johnson Abbey on September 05, this year.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Joseph Nyame told the court that the accused after realizing that the complainant had deposited the sand to the site, went into hiding and all efforts by the complainant to locate him proved futile.
He said unfortunately for the accused, a similar complaint was made against him and he was arrested by the Tanoso Police.
Mr Nyame said the complainant who heard about it went there to identify him and also made a report against him.
Inspector Nyame said the accused admitted the offence and was therefore charged and brought before the court.
