Mr. Paul Evans Aidoo, Western Regional Minister, has urged teachers to make efforts to retain pupils in school.
Mr. Aidoo said teachers can retain the pupils if the made their lessons attractive to the pupils.
The Minister said this when he visited the Bokor Korpke Basic School on My First Day at School on Tuesday.
He noted that teachers who do not resist posting to the hinterlands should be commended and rewarded for their commitment to serve the nation.
Mr. Aidoo said whilst government was making efforts to improve the working conditions of teachers who teach in the village, the inhabitants should also provide the needed atmosphere for learning.
He presented items including pencils, drinking cups, caps, erasers, biscuits and fruit drinks to the pupils.
