The Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana (CCT-Gh) strongly congratulates the Polytechnic Teachers Association of Ghana (POTAG) for winning their case against the National Labor Commission (NLC) in court.
This is a test case and it has proven that not all strikes are illegal as always pronounced by the NLC. Today we have known that NLC just hide behind the law and assist government to delay labor issues and prevent workers in this country from exercising their constitutional right to better conditions of service.
The CCT takes clue from this development and henceforth shall adopt similar strategies to press home its demands. We wish to state emphatically that the CCT is not happy about recent developments at the NLC where issues brought before it is deliberately delayed. Teachers in this country deserv0065 better.
We praise the court for delivering justice without fear or favor. We hereby ask the NLC to learn from the court and also do same in terms of its ruling without fear or favor. Teachers demand justice from the NLC.
This is also a lesson for government to be proactive in dealing with labor issues especially those of teachers. The CCT hereby draws the attention of government to the numerous concerns brought before it and ask that expedited action be taken or see teachers withdraw their services in the next few weeks.
Thank You. Signed
King Ali Awudu
