Lack Of Fence Wall Hampers Education - Ebah-Baidooh

Mr Joseph Edwin Ebah-Baidooh, Headmaster of Amenfiman Senior High has appealed to philanthropists to help fence the school to promote teaching and learning.

He said the absence of a fence wall has been a source of worry to the school authorities because lunatics, stray animals and people loiter around the school compound during instructional hours which distract academic work.

Mr. Ebah-Baidoo made the remarks when Amenfiman Rural Bank donated cement bags, iron rods and pieces of wood at the cost of GH¢30,000.00 to support the building of the School’s fence wall at Wassa Akronpong, in the Amenfi East District of the Western Region.

He said the completion of the fence wall would close many entry points to the School and prevent students from breaking bound, as well as improve discipline and ultimately enhance the academic performances of the students in external examinations.

Receiving the items on behalf of the School, the Headmaster expressed his appreciation to the Bank for the kind gesture and stated that the completion of the fence wall would also ward-off encroachment on the school lands.

Mr. Moses Ampong, the Vice Board Chairman of the Bank, who presented the items, said the support formed part of its corporate social responsibility to enhance teaching and learning in its operational area.

He explained that the Bank has three core objectives, including creating conducive learning and teaching environment for educational institutions as well as improve health and sanitation facilities in the area, in order to improve the living standards of the people.

Meanwhile, Mr. Alexander Asman, the Chief Executive Officer of the Bank, told the GNA that the Bank pays school fees for 50 brilliant but needy students in the area annually, while wards of shareholders receive various sponsorship packages to enhance their academic performances.
