Apart from unnecessary lamenting and wailing, l am yet to see any constructive policy alternative from the NDC and JM to that of the NPP. NDC is not a serious party. Four years ago, Bawumiah was making headlines with pragmatic policy alternatives and Nana was handling the politicking. NDC is not a serious party. Where are the intellectuals in NDC??? Only 3y3 zu 3y3 za...lol. JM lacks intellectual capacity to confronting the policies of the NPP...hahahahahaaa
this is not necessary, it doesn't add up
I hope the materials are not imported, another way of supporting our local textile industry
A solution to no problem
What's wrong with introducing a new uniform for Public JHS to distinguish them from Primary Schools? During our JHS days was it the government that bought you the uniform or your parents? How does introducing a new uniform lead to financial loss ( as alleged by some commentators ) . A simple analysis will tell you that Primary school ranges from Kindergarten to primary six, followed by High School, which ranges from the Junior high to the Senior High School. With the introduction of the Free SHS learners are expected to progress seamlessly from the Primary School to the SHS. Apparently the JHS is supposed to serve as a unique footbridge to prepare learners for secondary education by way of Curriculum provisions in terms of aligning what is learnt at JHS to the SHS Curriculum ( Something many Ghanaians have complained about). In the light of this, stakeholders through wide consultations have deemed it necessary to rebrand JHS education, starting with the change in uniform, subsequently to be followed by other interventions in assessment, Curriculum and pedagogy. In any case, is it a mere coincidence that the new uniforms were unveiled on the same day that the new standards based curriculum was launched? Have we asked ourselves why only JHS uniforms were changed, but that of the primary and KG were maintained? Come to think of it, are the materials for the uniform going to be sold in GES branded stores or on the open market, as has always been the case? Perhaps you want to suggest that in each region, only "some special " tailors and seamstresses will be permitted to sew uniforms? Now what informed the introduction of new uniforms about 3 decades ago? And the decision of government to allow mission schools to select their own uniforms a little over 10 years ago? Instead of finding the rationale behind the move we are behaving as if those who introduced it don't have any brains in their heads.
So when the original school uniform inherited from the Kwame Nkrumah era was changed during the PNDC era was it create loot and share? Was it to satisfy cronies, did it affect teaching and learning? Even changing the whole scope of our educational system to the current Junior and Senior High School concepts has had a toll on our Educational System but we have embraced it and are working with it. Currently about 80% of the working population passed through this system. LET US ACCEPT CHANGES.
I just want to know ,can things like this just be changed like that .
may I know who's controlling and advising the educational ministry? you can have ministries or ministers that are not doing much but people will be cool with them cos they don't irritate them. but in the education ministry, it seems they want to do sth or bring in new policies but almost all the policies they are bringing are irrelevant and very irritating. we find it difficult to understand their direction. if they are busily refurbishing science and ict labs with equipment and computers or spending on giving digital learning environment then one can see that they rolling policies that will make impact on teaching and learning. trs were writing exams on the chalk board and with all the knowledge some people have acquired, they go to meetings and only think about how to change School uniform. in fact I don't want NDC to win 2020 elections but it seems the education ministry is running like Usain Bolt to give power to NDC. let me tell you trs are very annoyed at headmasters, gnat and other tr union leaders, GES leadership and the entire Ministry of education. headmasters are also frustrated by the free SHS and it associated problems except that they are afraid to talk cos of political vindictiveness. let me end here for now.
OBVIOUSLY, SOMEONE GOT A BIG CONTRACT ON THIS NEW UNIFORM AS PART OF FULFILLING A CAMPAIGN PROMISE. SO HERE WE GO, NEW UNIFORMS. PARENTS CAN'T EVEN AFFORD THE OLD ONES, AND NOW THIS. WHAT KIND OF A COUNTRY IS THIS? EVERY GOVERNMENT WHO COMES INTO POWER WANTS TO INTRODUCE UNIFORMS AND NOT BECAUSE THEY DO IT FOR THE GOOD OF THE PEOPLE, NO, FAR FROM IT. THEY DO SO THEY CAN GET THE SHARE OF THE PEOPLE'S MONEY AS IN LOOT AND SHARE CONTRACTS. AWURADE KASA MA YEN WAI. GHANA FUO ABRE.....AH.
Hope it will be distributed free to all JHS pupils,if not then there is no need.Gh is suffering from this politrickers.
